About the Social Enterprise

The social enterprise "Edena" was founded in 2015 in Oni, within the framework of a joint project of the International Cultural Center and the Georgian Center for Strategic Research and Development, with the financial support of the President's Reserve Fund. Since its inception, the company has received two grants, which have expanded and strengthened its position in the market. "Edena" has been implementing a large-scale project since 2019 with the support of UNDP, which covers several social areas. The enterprise operates an ethno-tourism space and a social shop, where local entrepreneurs also have the opportunity to sell their products.

Mission of Social Enterprise

The mission of the social enterprise is to promote the employment and training of local women.

Products/Services of Social Enterprise

"Edena" offers customers traditional handicrafts and produces decorative and usable items:

  • Felt;
  • Cross embroidery;
  • Painting on silk;
  • Enamel;
  • Wooden souvenirs.

Social Results

  • Currently 15 local women have undergone training, another 30 beneficiaries will complete the course by the end of June;
  • The enterprise employs 26 people.
